My 10-year-old granddaughter was admitted and all that could be done at this time was to keep her comfortable. You see, she had Glioblastoma brain cancer and the tumors grew extremely fast so her last week of life was spent in her hospital room. This nurse is only one of the many amazing caregivers we encountered during this week. She was so compassionate and fun-loving and went way above and beyond to assure my entire family and granddaughter were comfortable and taken care of to the fullest. She stood guard at our door to help us maintain only two extra visitors in the room at a time. She laughed with my granddaughter and cried with us. My granddaughter had two really good afternoons/evenings and she was part of them. My family and I could not have made it through the week without this amazing lady. She deserves special recognition. She has a God-given talent and definitely is in the right place. It takes a very special person to be able to work on the cancer floor.
