On just day one of Carly being our NICU nurse, we felt an overwhelming peace that we had the best care for our 26-week micro-preemie. As a first-time mother with a scary labor in rural Arizona, I was left in Phoenix alone to care for our little one at the NICU without much support. Carly was very reassuring all throughout the scary times. She always rushed into our pod when the monitors went off and provided excellent care for our boy. Not only did she care for our baby, but also assured a scared mom that everything he was going through was typical of a micro-preemie. She took the time to explain everything on the monitors and how she was going to "fix" it and warned us about the future challenges and milestones we might encounter throughout our long journey. She was also very comforting by sharing her personal NICU journey with her twins. As a NICU parent, I pray daily that our son is surrounded by angels all through the day and night and there is no doubt that Carly was an answered prayer for our family.
