May 2024 Honoree
Carlye Larks, BSN, RN
Karleigh is a nurse in the PCU who works the night shift. She recently took care of me three nights in a row. I was in the hospital because I had injured all 4 of my extremities, and my left hand and wrist were paralyzed after a weird complication from surgery. Karleigh was kind and thoughtful. No request was too big or too small. I was made to feel like I was her only patient. I felt like her priority instead of a nuisance. I started to itch because of the medicine I was on. I asked her for a back scratcher, and she found one for me. It is such a novel thing, but she found it. She is the most compassionate, kind, caring, and humble nurse I have ever had. i had to stay a lone each night, she helped me feel at ease and not alone. Such a great nurse. I wish there were more like her. Hospital stays would definitely be more pleasant then.
Thank you, Carlye, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
