I have a very special nomination for a very special nurse, Carmen. Every time I work with Carmen, she welcomes me with a big smile and an extremely warm heart. Carmen not only shares her warm heart with me but with her patients as well. I have many reasons to nominate this wonderful nurse but the reason for my nomination today is because she has touched my heart at a personal level. My daughter had surgery and became a patient on 3 East. She was very afraid of having to go through surgery at such a young age. When I went to the hospital to visit, my daughter told me how wonderful, nice, amazing, attentive, and knowledgeable her nurse was. My daughter said that her nurse made her feel comfortable and turned her experience into something wonderful. As I am sitting in the room with my daughter, Carmen walks in and at that point I understood. With this nomination, I would like to thank Carmen not only for caring for my daughter but for being an amazing nurse with a heart of gold.
