I nominate Carmen Harrison for the DAISY Award because this past term, I have worked very closely with her. I have observed her in the classroom and she is very skilled at engaging her students. She is very knowledgeable about her content and uses creative methods to enhance her teaching. She is also very enthusiastic and calls her students by name during class and positively reinforces them when they respond to her questions. She has excellent communication skills and seems to have a very good sense of how to respond to different people. Carmen has been one of my mentors this past term and has been very supportive and helpful to me no matter how many times I ask her the same question. I believe she is a role model of professional nursing in the educator role and certainly does all she can to facilitate learning.
