Carmen is a leader. She is a great communicator and teaches other nurses the ropes
Carmen Sauceda is a kindhearted, caring, and knowledgeable Nurse who is patient, supportive, and a great example of a true leader who treats others with compassion and respect.
Carmen listens to what others have to say and is quick to respond. She is very understanding that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and builds on strengths. She realizes that staff who provide direct care or other services for the children and adults are the ones who a lot of times know them better than most and have a lot to offer. She takes what is reported to her seriously and respects what is said no matter the person’s title.
She understands what emergencies call for and reacts appropriately in a calm and professional matter. Carmen takes time to assist in any manner she is needed, whether it be a diaper change, transfer, or cleaning up a mess. No job is too small, meaningless, or too messy for her to stop and help if she is not in the middle of an emergency. She knows it takes teamwork to get things done no matter what the title everyone's part of the team!
Carmen is a leader. She is a great communicator and teaches other nurses the ropes who are newer to St. Mary's and makes them feel welcomed. She also teaches staff and other nurses when asked to operate feeding machines, monitors, and other important items. She does not make one feel ignorant for asking questions and explains in a manner everyone can understand. She leads by example. If someone needs personal care, she does not look for someone else to do it, she does it, while she is training someone. Her actions are professional and supportive. She is a hardworking, honest, and dependable asset to SMH nursing TEAM.
Carmen's passion for nursing shows every day in the way she treats the kids and adults she supports here at St. Mary's. She treats everyone she interacts with with dignity and respect. Carmen always has a smile on her face and her big heart shows daily.
