Carmen was incredibly patient, understanding, and encouraging. Her confidence and calm demeanor were contagious.
Our 4-day old daughter was admitted to the NICU after she had a low temperature and was dehydrated. We spent three nights in the NICU one of which we worked with Carmen throughout the night. Carmen was incredibly patient, understanding, and encouraging. Her confidence and calm demeanor were contagious. After we were admitted to the NICU, I started doubting every decision when it came to our newborn. Carmen helped me feel more comfortable with the basics--just holding my baby and talking to her--and also with breastfeeding--which has been a struggle for us from the beginning. On day three our daughter was back to birth weight and gaining weight rapidly. We left the NICU feeling more confident in our abilities to care for our daughter in large part because of Carmen's help.
