Carol was an instant delight the moment we met her as she was receiving the update/report on M, at shift change.
One of the first things she asked my husband was if he was hot and then she got a fan for his room. M always runs hot and this small simple gesture was gratefully received.
One of my best friends went to visit M after I left that evening. My friend prayed with him and read scripture. My friend told me when Carol came in to touch base she was wondering what book she was reading to M. Carol then said, "Oh that can do more help than I can". It's a sweet remark because she too knows the power of prayer. That made me smile.
Carol also shared with us that she used to be an oncology nurse. M is also a cancer survivor. She was tickled to hear that. Carol is such a doll and her demeanor is thoughtful, compassionate and genuine.
You can see she loves her job. Carol will do with her talents what God has given her the ability to do; to assist and go beyond, not just because it is her job, but because it is who she is.
I was glad that M had her for his nurse, even if for a short time.
