Carol makes the stressful situation of having a child in the NICU bearable. She constantly makes you feel welcome, wanted and taken care of. Carol will take the time to make sure you are fully aware and understanding of your baby's condition as well as to teach you new things in regards to caring for your baby. While I was still admitted and having a rough night emotionally, I went down to the NICU at about 1 am. Carol saw me and had the compassion and empathy to read my face and knew it wasn't a good night. She offered a 'hug from a stranger' which I gladly took. That hug completely changed not only that night but my overall attitude. Although by no means do I consider her a stranger, she may never know what a difference that hug made not just for me but for my baby too.
