Carole Borland, MSN, RN

Not only has Carole served the VA for many years in many ways, but also, she has led and mentored by example. In her day-to-day work, the ICARE Values are central to her core as she serves not only nurses but in turn, the Veterans her nurses care for. Carole has been a conduit for resource acquisition and allocation so that her nurses have the best possible support to be able to give the excellence in care delivery that we strive to provide. She has served with compassion, inclusion, and respect for the diverse needs of nurses, interprofessional colleagues, and Veterans before and especially throughout a historical pandemic and the ever-changing healthcare climate. Because she believes in and upholds the values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence she is awarded the Madison VA’s very first DAISY Award.
