Carolina is an amazing human being. She was so competent and emotionally supportive when I was having side effects from a medication during the infusion, and on my third day there, she actually offered to intercede in an issue I was having with the local pharmacy and get a prescription filled. She made it possible for me to get this drug I really needed when the pharmacy was being difficult, and my doctor was not easily available. She also succeeded in getting a different medication that I needed for pre-infusion meds, which my insurance wasn’t approving fast enough for me to pick up at the pharmacy, but she got it delivered here for the days that I’m here. She is checking on me constantly when I’m here, and she even told another nurse to let me know she’d be thinking about me when she had a day off. She’s an incredible nurse and an incredible human being. I’ve never seen somebody go so above and beyond for patients, and as a rare disease patient with a diagnosis delay of 10 years, being at the Infusion Center is one of the most healing medical experiences I’ve ever had because of someone like her.
