I do know that without her soothing words and knowledge I would not be writing these words.
I am a patient at Abrazo West Campus, Goodyear, AZ. Since May 2017, this is my 3rd stay at this hospital. Thus far I've been here almost 2 weeks. I must share with you, a moment with one of your nurses whom I do feel has gone beyond her job in assisting me with my current stay. I'm here due to the fluid around my heart and my CHF. In the past, I've not been a model patient, and this time was leaning towards the same. In the middle of my massive anxiety attack (more like a meltdown) Nurse Carolina saw I was upset, crying, and a bit hysterical. After taking my vitals and ensuring her other patients were cared for, returned, and began helping me break up my anxiety issues from home to health. She took the time to make sure I understood what my illness was about and what was being done about it and what I needed to do to get better. I'm 55 years old and I'm not a dumb woman, yet I am so grateful to this woman for helping me understand and calm myself down. I do not know if it was her or me finally ready to hear what's going on with me. I do know that without her soothing words and knowledge I would not be writing these words. Because of this woman, I’ve become a stronger person in that I was able to better explain to my kids what’s going on with me. Making this a less scary situation for us all. I’ve yet to see anything other than a positive demeanor emit from her. I do not know when my release is, but your patients and their families and coworkers should feel very fortunate with such an asset to the quality of life for all.
