Our patient was admitted to the OBS unit for stress and anxiety-related chest pain. The patient's husband was a patient in the CCU. Our patient had been wishing to see her husband since her admission.
On Sunday morning, Carolina told the patient that she would take her over to the heart tower so she could see her husband. At 9:30 am, a code blue was announced on the patient's husband in CCU. Carolina waited until the code blue was clear and called CCU to get an update on the patient's husband and to let them know that their patient's wife was also a patient in OBS.
Carolina then wheeled her patient over to CCU to visit her husband. The patient's husband was able to squeeze his wife's hand. This little bit of contact made the world of difference for her and very thankful for Carolina giving her the opportunity to see her husband. Carolina acknowledged and listened to her patient. Carolina is a great team player. She is always there to help her co-worker at any time.
