Caroline Dziel is an all-around great nurse and was very involved with my son's care. She came in for family meetings with doctors and brought extra value and input to the plan. She always made my son feel at ease and comfortable. Caroline has an awesome bedside manner that is just the right combination of caring, professionalism, and a positive attitude. We felt that Caroline went above and beyond in her involvement with the plan of care. Taking time to explain everything to us at a very scary time when we thought surgery was a real possibility for our son. She was a valuable extension to our son's outpatient Gastrointestinal Care team while he was in the hospital.

When the family was notified that Caroline won the DAISY Award, they were overjoyed. Mom wanted to put in the nomination form that everyone was wonderful, but that Caroline stood out for them. This was because she made a connection with her son. He would whisper to her that Caroline was his favorite. Mom shared that Caroline turned this experience into a positive one for the whole family and a great big thank you to the team.
