This nurse showed above-average care, concern, and compassion for a human trafficking victim this year. I feel because of the attention to detail and in-depth inquiries made concerning the patient's symptoms, both physical and emotional, other staff, such as myself, were able to better serve the needs of the patient. Honestly, I often encounter RNs who seem bothered to serve patients' needs, even when they are making minimal requests. It was refreshing and inspiring to see Caroline go above and beyond her duties to ensure the physical and emotional safety of this patient. I truly believe Caroline's actions saved the life of this patient who desperately needed full care and attention in order to feel safe enough to give the information we needed to best help her to freedom from slavery. Kudos!
