Caroline helped me to call my wife to sing Happy Birthday with me.
Thank you so much for looking after me so well during my stay here. Everyone has gone above and beyond the call of duty during what must be one of the hardest challenges the NHS has ever faced. Every single doctor, surgeon, nurse, administrator, porter, caterer, and cleaner has treated me just wonderfully, and I genuinely wish there was some way to repay all this kindness.
Special mention must go to Caroline, who is deserving of this DAISY Award. Caroline is generally just a fantastic nurse, but she went above and beyond. Not only did she spend ages reassuring me and helping me with pain management on my first night on the ward, but she also helped me to call my wife to sing Happy Birthday with me, something that my wife found incredible.
Thank you again to everyone on the ward for being such a credit to the NHS and the medical profession as a whole.
