Our preterm son required urgent phototherapy in the NICU, a time that was fraught with challenges, particularly in the postpartum unit and during earlier shifts. The protective eye cover for our son constantly shifted, creating a dangerous suffocation risk. The stress of the situation made it impossible to relax or sleep, and our little one struggled without the comfort of being swaddled.

Then, Carolyn began her shift. What she did for our family wasn't just standard nursing care; it was a series of thoughtful actions that transferred our experience. Firstly, she recognized and rectified the issue with the eye cover, introducing us to a better size. She crafted a soft boundary with rolled blankets, giving our baby a snug feeling. Prioritizing our son's safety, she connected him to a continuous SPO2 monitor and optimally adjusted the height of the therapeutic light. Not stopping there, Carolyn also provided us with vital supplies, including for the mother's care. Thanks to Carolyn's diligent and compassionate care, we, as parents, were finally able to get some much-needed rest, and more importantly, our son had improved feeding sessions. By morning, our baby successfully completed his treatment. We are deeply grateful to Carolyn for her exceptional care and wish to nominate her!
