Carolyn has been an asset to the ED since she started. Carolyn has become a credentialed trainer for EPIC. She trained 90% of all the ED staff for the upgrade as well as working her regular shifts. Carolyn is kind and compassionate. She advocates for her patients. She will approach the physicians to increase pain medications when needed. She is aware of everything going on with her patients. She advocates for the patient even when she is the charge RN. She is quick to triage, makes outstanding assessment and determine where the patient should be placed in the ED. Carolyn works well with her coworkers and is a team player.

Today a patient family was upset because of the delay in getting placed in an ED room. Carolyn talked to the son offering any assistance, apologizing for the delay then took it one step further and asked the manager to talk to the patient and family again just to let them know we care about their concerns.
