In 2015 something amazing happened for nursing and midwifery at NGH. A leader with vision, enthusiasm, and passion joined us. Three years on and we are at the end of a fantastic journey, playing with the big boys and about to be the first in the country to achieve international recognition.
Once Carolyn discovered NGH she also discovered a nursing and midwifery team who needed someone to believe in them, to champion them, to recognize the good and dynamic workforce that they were and are. Your belief in us had no boundaries, you taught us to believe, to roar and of course to whoop. You have created a legacy that will never be forgotten and could not be stopped no matter who tries - just as you wanted. For these reasons, unanimously the team wanted the first-ever DAISY Nurse Leader Award to go to the person who has led them to amazing things over the past three years.
