I was diagnosed with bacteremia, pneumonia, and endocarditis which required six weeks of antibiotic therapy. I had been here for about a month and was getting bored. Carolyn and I had talked about it. The next morning, she came in and brought me a book, magazine and a pillowcase that you colored a design on to because she saw me coloring and reading. That small gesture along with her warm personality and hilarious sense of humor really left an impression on me and my mother. I will always remember the care and kindness these women and men all showed me. They saved my life and gave me a second chance. As well as a solid foundation to build my new, sober life. Thank you!
