Carolyn Harding, MS, RN-BC

Since my time knowing Carolyn, there hasn't been one particular event to demonstrate her competency or compassion for patients; there have been many. Recently, Carolyn aided in the care of a patient that required immediate life-saving action. She was simply walking to the peri-operative services desk to bring back a different patient when she noticed an ill-appearing patient being wheeled by in a bed. She immediately assessed the patient's distress by the facial countenance and physical demeanor despite the stable vitals on the monitor. She palpated for a pulse and discovered the patient was in a PEA arrhythmia and immediately began chest compressions. She saved this patient's life.
