Being the RN field manager, I get the pleasure working side-by-side with the nurses. An RN that especially stands out is Carolyn Iorio. Carolyn is one of our senior preceptors for the new RN hires. She does an amazing job while educating and preparing each individual in their new role as an RN case manager. This is a role with a lot of autonomy, but we are assured that each orientee will be fully prepared to venture out with all the support and direction Carolyn provides. She ensures that they have every tool in order to work to the best of their ability. Orientees gain a wealth of knowledge and insight by her mentorship. She is definitely a mama bird who makes sure her babies can fly to their highest potential before she lets them leave the nest. During a field evaluation with Carolyn, she was also precepting and she exemplified such a professional aura and demeanor. Carolyn is a one-of-a-kind role model. She advocates for her patients and always goes above and beyond. The patient stated that Carolyn is an extraordinary nurse and she can always count on her expertise and care with her slow healing wound. She stated that between her MD and Carolyn’s care, she is sure that her wound will be on the mend. Carolyn listens to her patients and continually provides the best care. She fosters wonderful communication with other disciplines as well. She keeps the managers abreast to anything she deems important. She provides compassionate and safe care to all her patients and meets their individual needs as well. Carolyn is an invaluable asset to our team!
