Carolyn was nominated for her patience and diligence while helping a patient diagnosed with meningitis. Throughout the patient's stay, Carolyn went out of her way to provide physical and emotional comfort as well as alleviate the fears the woman was experiencing. She encouraged the patient continually throughout her severe physical discomfort.
"I suffered from debilitating headaches and was crying," the patient wrote. "Carolyn stopped what she was doing and held my hands and told me that everything would be okay."
Carolyn treated the patient with compassion and empathy and checked in with her multiple times to provide a kind word and medication when necessary. She also helped the patient receive immediate care from a physician when extra tests were needed.
"She was on top of all that I went through and never stopped. We really need more nurses like Carolyn!"
