Carolyn was on shift in the emergency department when she was assigned to a patient who was on comfort measures. She was quick to provide care not only to the patient but their family, too. 
 
“The patient's daughter was devastated, and Carolyn was so supportive and comforting,” a nominator says. “She hugged the daughter, cried with her, prayed with and for her. It was so touching to see her provide the most compassionate care to her patient and their family during this tragic experience.”
