Carolyn's work ethic and commitment to patients and staff never waver. Leading by example is essential to her practice. She reminds me daily of the importance of always putting the patient first. She not only talks the talk but walks the walk.
Ms. Wright has the hands-on approach to educate and demonstrated to myself and staff the process for HS rounds. This consist of getting patients ready for bed by offering back rubs, cleaning the room, offering snacks and tidying up the patients' bed to settle everyone in for the night. This traditional practice increases the patient experience and facilitates human touch for patients trying to get well.
The knowledge Ms. Wright shares is centered around the role of an Acute Care nurse. Having an ED background, the crucial step in learning the role of being an acute care nurse were missed. Ms. Wright has been a huge asset to the Emergency Department as well as a mentor and preceptor to our leadership team. There is never an opportunity she will miss helping support other new leaders when they initially transition into leadership. She gives unselfishly to her team. We are truly honored to walk beside her every day. Her dedication is unparalleled.
Ms. Wright's nursing career began at Harper University Hospital as a staff nurse on 10 Webber North and within 4 years she became an assistant manager. Over the years her career advanced to the Manager, Director and Administrative Director of multiple Acute Care Units and Service Lines. She embraces the meaning of being a caring, compassionate nurse for the patients we serve and the staff she mentors continually. Carolyn is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
