When my mom came into the ED in severe pain from a heart attack, Carrie worked efficiently and calmly despite my mother’s duress. Carrie reassured my mom consistently and explained what she was doing at each step. In working to put in an IV, my mother became very anxious and wasn’t easy to work with. Carrie stayed calm, spoke to my mom without threats, and conveyed understanding and compassion.
