I know that if she hadn’t been so persistent, I would have suffered much longer, and I would have had to stay in the hospital longer.
The story below is one of many we received on behalf of Carrie Ann. She received 18 nominations for our 2024-2025 Year. We are so proud of her!:
Carrie Ann seemed to understand that I am 71 years old and very modest. When treating my burns after I spilled coffee on my lap, she always treated me with dignity by making sure that I was covered as much as possible when helping me with my wounds.

I was in the hospital for an extensive back surgery; she always made sure she treated both the back incision as well as the burns gently.

When Carrie Ann noticed that I shifted in bed, usually to the bottom of the bed, she would bring help and move me back into a better position. Then, she would ask if I wanted my arms or knees propped up with pillows. Always asked me if I needed or wanted anything. She kept me up to date on when PT was going to come by and was patient every time I needed to get to the restroom.

When the wound nurse shared a more effective treatment for my burn, TSSH didn’t have the medicine, so Carrie Ann investigated and located it. Thanks to her I received the medicine the very next day and started to use it and it worked wonderfully! It healed very quickly.
