My husband had a long stay at UPMC Mercy Hospital on 9E. I wanted to take some time to recognize and thank Carrie for the extraordinary care she provided to him. Carrie is such a devoted and caring nurse. Her years of patient care make her so intuitive to a patient’s needs. She was proactively on top of everything medically for my husband. When there was a dietary mix-up, she made sure he got fed to keep his strength up. Importantly, she took time to converse with him and listen to the stories he had about his family. This was just the medicine needed as it helped him forget about his medical condition because a lot was thrown at him in a short time. Carrie’s beautiful inner nature comforted him and made him feel safe, comfortable, and respected. She’s a keeper!
