This was my first hospital stay, and it could have been scary for me except for the great care I received from Carrie. I did not understand what was going on and got more confused when the doctors made rounds. But Carrie always made sure to check in on me, she made rounds with the doctors and returned to explain what they said and answer any questions I had. She never made me feel like she didn't have time to talk. She is an amazing nurse and deserves to be recognized.

Carrie is a great team member. In her time working on the 4th Floor, she has shown caring, leadership, and compassion. Her care does not stop just at the patient; she is there for the staff. Although she is a front-line staff nurse and does not carry any leadership title, she oozes with confidence, but not in an arrogant way. Carrie's style is one of a trusting team member. She inspires you to be a better person for yourself and for the patients we take care of every day. Her commitment, passion, empathy, honesty, and integrity are what she brings to the team on the 4th floor every day she works. UPH is lucky to have someone like this on their team. She may not have gone out and saved the world or solved the world hunger issues, but she has brought a world of sunshine to the 4th floor.
