I am writing this letter to know of the care and attention I received from my Nurse Carrie Sukal during my recent hospital stay. I am a 72 year old woman that was recently admitted to 5 East. Please understand that it has been forty years since my last hospitalization. I am sure you can acknowledge that as we age, we tend to get a bit contrary about things like using the bedpan versus the toilet and so on. I may have been one of those patients. Due to having mouth surgery, my diet was restricted and I became impacted and fainted in my bathroom. Carrie explained in depth that my safety was her most important job and that I was weak and could not chance falling again. Carrie made sure that I never felt embarrassed or humiliated when I had bowl movements 11 or 12 times that night. She cleaned me up as she made pleasant conversation. Carrie made it very clear and understandable the medications I was given and why. She eased away my fears and checked on me numerous times during the night with my bathroom needs. Carrie very much deserves recognition for the excellent care she provided.
