October 2025 Honoree
Carson Chau, RN
Carson was the nurse who called me the afternoon before surgery. He was so patient with all the questions that I had and the clarifications that I needed. When I got to pre-op, Carson was one of my nurses.
I have had two bad experiences with IV placements in my past, so I was anxious about that (actually more so than the surgery itself). Carson looked at my hand and said: "I got this." This was so reassuring. He warmed up my hand, and although I wasn’t looking, it seemed like he got it on the first try. He was chatting with me and my husband, which was a great distraction to the IV placement.
He understood my concerns and helped me through the process. Carson was also there to remove my IV, which I was happy about. Many thanks to Carson!

Thank you, Carson, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
