I'm a first-time mom with a very big fear of doctors, hospitals, and especially labor. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to my due date. That anxiety skyrocketed when they induced me two weeks early. My labor was 38 hours long and Carter was there with me for my first night, where I experienced very little progress and my second night of intense contractions and 2.5 hours of pushing, which led to the eventual birth of my baby boy.
Both nights Carter was the exact calming presence I needed. She was the perfect combination of skill and compassion. She also did a great job of including and coaching my husband through the process...especially when he felt like he was going to pass out. While a lot of my worries and fears about labor came true, I can say I still experienced joy and I believe Carter had a big role in ensuring that. I'm so thankful she was my nurse!

Thank you, Carter, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
