Casey Bone, BSN, RN
When I was receiving a continuous bladder irrigation running wide open, Casey demonstrated extraordinary vigilance, compassion, and expertise. She checked on me every 10-15minutes without fail throughout her 12-hour shift, ensuring that I remained safe and comfortable during a most difficult time for me. Her attentiveness gave me tremendous confidence in her clinical judgment and expertise.
Before performing any procedure, she took the time to explain what she was doing and why, in a way that I could understand. She made me feel like an active participant in my care rather than simply a patient being treated.
When I was frightened or anxious, she offered calm confidence. She seemed to know exactly when I needed encouragement and when I needed a smile, often making me chuckle at just the right moment. Her kindness and sense of humor brought much comfort during a very stressful time.
Her clinical assessment skills were equally impressive. She realized at one point that my CBI wasn’t working properly, and she took immediate steps to correct the issue and alert my urology team. Her keen observation, swift action, and advocacy ensured that my care stayed on track and that potential complications were averted.
The care she provided went far above and beyond expectations, and I am deeply grateful for the difference that she made during a very vulnerable time.
