Casey made sure that I was comfortable, that I understood what was going on, she was personable and even checked on me even after her shift change. It's clear this is so much more than a job for her.
I was over 550 miles from home on an annual hunting trip in your area when I needed emergency medical services. Thankful doesn't even capture the feeling my family or I have, that the nearest hospital was yours. It's not lost on me that we are in a pandemic or that healthcare at this time is scary to many. What was laid at my family's feet was a serious matter and I couldn't have been more pleased with the care, compassion, and professionalism the entire staff at UNC Nash Healthcare provided.
My daughter was reached out to by the ER attending doctor once they had: reviewed my chart, diagnosed, and were prepping for surgery. They kept her in the loop her entire 10-hour drive from Florida to me. I know this is not something they had to do but did and it gave her peace of mind. That kindness was extended even further upon her arrival, where she was briefed and made sure that she had a place to rest in close proximity to me. Allowing her to be with me 24/ 7, I'm confident, this specific action aided in my mental and physical healing and allowed me to head home in just a few short days.
Again, I am extremely impressed with the entire staff, but I really wanted to take the time to recognize Casey who was my main nurse. She went above and beyond what I have experience in my many years with healthcare previously. Casey made sure that I was comfortable, that I understood what was going on, she was personable and even checked on me even after her shift change. It's clear this is so much more than a job for her.
Dr. T, the attending neurosurgeon, recognized my needs in an expeditious manner, and my family and I credit her for saving my life. She wasn't just my doctor in the OR, but she checked on me multiple times daily. She made sure I understood what was happening and answered all of our questions in laymen's terms. While this should be common practice, it has not been our experience. I am so very grateful for your services and care. Thank you just doesn't even capture how I truly feel.
While I hope I don't need your talents, knowledge, and care again, I can't thank you enough for seeing me through this traumatic life experience. Please extend my sincere gratitude to the entire staff, but especially Casey and Dr. T.
