October 2024 Honoree
Casey Greenmyer, RN
I was admitted to the ER with Hypoxia. After numerous tests, the diagnosis was COPD. I recently lost my husband to this disease so this diagnosis was very disturbing to me. Casey said to me, "You are not anywhere near where your husband was when he died. I knew the minute I brought you to your room that you were going to be fine. I can already tell that you are a person who will make the lifestyle changes you need to make to be healthy again. I believe in you. You are going to be fine. Just give yourself time."
Her words uplifted me and gave me hope at a time when I was very vulnerable and still mourning the loss of my husband and then finding myself in his shoes.
Thank you, Casey, for your kind words.
