Nothing brings me greater comfort than starting my shift knowing that Casey Harris has my back. He is an invaluable resource to every nurse on the 5th Floor. He is always attentive and willing to help in any way possible. Not only is Casey a great resource, but he is also a leader by example. He is not the loudest or commanding individual, but he earns your respect by the integrity, quality and excellence that he displays in his work.
Casey is exactly the person I hope to see when there is an emergency. He always maintains a calm and competent presence, while he responds. Casey is always available to help and he does whatever he sees needs doing. As charge nurse, Casey must juggle administrative tasks, regulatory tasks, meetings and staffing needs. Despite all that, he never makes any nurse feel like he doesn't have time to help. If there is an emergency, he is always there to help, he is never too busy. I really value Casey's clinical expertise. He combines intelligence with excellent clinical judgment and skill. He respects bedside nurses, and it shows. He is wonderfully kind to our patients. I've never heard Casey specifically talk about the Franciscan values because he is too busy modeling them.
The 5th Floor is lucky to have Casey. An exemplary nurse, Casey's calm yet focused and attentive demeanor makes stressful nights so much easier.
