Casey, having heard the son, tried to console him by saying, "Whatever you've decided, we all know that it's for his best..."
Caring for a dying elderly patient is never easy, especially if the family is still hard on letting go. But Casey never let them feel differently. He still gives the same love, care, and attention; he still checks on him from time to time, personally repositions him at intervals, and patiently talks to the patient's family and explains things as they bombard him with endless issues and concerns.
There was even a time when he was making his usual rounds at night, and he saw that the patient opened his eyes. Casey interacts with him with eagerness, wherein he gets the most positive response - a smile, a blink, and a "hi," and it's the most picture-perfect and heartwarming interaction between a nurse and his patient. What more is, when the family finally decided to sign up for hospice, the son would often feel guilty and depressed about it, but Casey, having heard the son, tried to console him by saying, "Whatever you've decided, we all know that it's for his best..." It's very simple but full of concern. said in the right tone, manner, and timing, which truly struck the son's heart.
