Casey Johnson received the DAISY Award for his care with staff and patients. His nominator says Johnson always puts the needs of the patient first and truly cares for the happiness of his patients.
"Casey is viewed as a kind and approachable resource for staff and patients. His number 1 concern is always about what is best for the patient."
His nominator related a time when Johnson's patient was sad due to a long hospitalization. Johnson took it on himself to help cheer up the patient by moving the patient to a new room facing the lake and decorating the room with holiday decorations.
"When the patient was moved to the room, both the patient and Casey had tears in their eyes, and staff could see what a special moment it was for them. On a busy day, Casey always makes sure to take care of not only the physical needs of the patient but their emotional needs, as well."
