Casey Joy, RN

Casey is a third-shift Maternity nurse at Wilson Hospital. The entire staff is wonderful, caring and professional, but Casey recently went above and beyond the call of duty in helping my daughter H with newborn J. J was struggling with his feeding and sleeping routine, and H wasn't sure how to balance his needs with her own. Casey solved the problem by coaching H and providing extra care for J, which helped H rest and regain perspective. Casey cared for J as though he was her own and returned him to his mother with a smile on her face. Casey even helped H realize that it was okay to take advantage of her support network and not feel awkward or guilty. That is a tremendous gift for Casey to share with her patients. For this reason, I nominate Casey for the DAISY Award.
