August 2025 Honoree
Casey Lowe, BSN, RN
I would like to recognize a well-deserving nurse who took care of me for two days during my six-day hospital stay. Casey, who works on the observation unit, is exceptional! There are two instances where I found Casey to be outstanding. One, she noticed a potential medication error that she sought clarification on. I am so thankful that Casey was paying attention to detail.
Two, when I was transferred to the 6th floor, I was experiencing shortness of breath from COPD exacerbation. Casey arranged for transport to move me into the bedside recliner. It was perhaps an odd request, but she was thinking of my well-being and comfort. I really commend her for doing so. In the eyes of this 86-year-old patient, my observation of her nursing skills showed compassion, kindness, and empathy, beyond a doubt.
