I would like to nominate Nurse Casey for The DAISY Award for her extraordinary care, unwavering compassion, and exceptional dedication to both my father and mother during some of the most difficult times of our lives. From the moment Casey began caring for my father, I could see how deeply she cared about not just his health, but his dignity and comfort. The kindness and empathy she showed in every interaction went beyond what I could have hoped for. Casey not only provided excellent clinical care, but she also took it upon herself to single-handedly facilitate my father’s acceptance into a wonderful hospice facility. This act alone helped ease our burden during such a challenging time.

More recently, Casey has been caring for my mother, treating her with the same level of love and respect as if she were family. Casey’s presence has been a source of calm and strength for our family, and her support has meant the world to us. One of the most meaningful moments was when I shared photos of my father during his last days. Casey didn’t just care for my mother in that moment—she shared in my grief, shedding tears with me as I relived those precious memories. That act of empathy and understanding is something I will never forget.

Casey’s unwavering commitment to both clinical excellence and compassionate care makes her an invaluable part of our family’s journey, and I believe she truly embodies the spirit of The DAISY Award.
