May 2021 Honoree
casey scillitani, RN, ADN
I was a patient at Duke Raleigh. I had a 4-level anterior fusion, Casey Scillitani did everything she could to take the fear from me and support me.
I had a drain in my neck and a tube draining my urine. If I pushed the call bell, it was like Casey was standing at the door. My fear was not being able to have family there at all times, due to Covid. Casey became my family. Words cannot describe how she made me feel comfortable. Casey was aware of my needs before me. She would take the time to call my wife's cell phone and kept her updated. The nursing world is much better with her. Casey went above and beyond. I thank her from the bottom of my heart!
