She could not have had a better nurse to comfort him during the final days and hours of his life here on Earth. She told him jokes, rubbed his arms and chest, and made sure he was as comfortable as he could possibly be.
Cassie took care of my father for the last 5 days of his life. She was the most compassionate, caring, kind and empathetic nurse I've ever encountered. Not only was she amazingly gentle and loving with my father but she also was such a great source of information and comfort for the rest of the family. I spoke with her on the phone several times before I and my brother were able to make the flight back to see my father. She was a great source of information, and she delivered it honestly and compassionately. I knew he was in good hands, and when you're half a country away, that is so comforting. When I arrived and watched her interact with my father, it was confirmed. She could not have had a better nurse to comfort him during the final days and hours of his life here on Earth. She told him jokes, rubbed his arms and chest, and made sure he was as comfortable as he could possibly be.
Cassie came in at the end of her shift the night he passed to hug us all, say her goodbyes to him and have a cry with us. Several days later, we were at a local festival, and she saw us and came running over to give us a hug and tell us again how much she loved taking care of our father. Cassie is truly a gift, and it's clear she loves what she does. I thank God that she chose nursing as a profession and was there to care for my father during the last days of his life. God bless you, Cassie and THANK YOU.
