She talked me through calming me down and I don't think I would have been so relaxed without her help. I have never seen so much compassion from a nurse.
My journey here at the hospital has sure been a lot for me. I arrived here from the ED twice due to an unknown pain in my stomach. After the first visit, I was discharged and able to go home. However, my pain and symptoms of whatever I had were getting worse the next morning. I decided to come back which ultimately was the right choice. After 26 hours in the ER the second time. I was able to get a room and be admitted. The staff that took/are taking care of me, are all amazing, but I had one experience that changed my view on how much, no matter how headstrong I am, I needed the care and support of Cassie.

After doing a series of tests from samples all day, my doctor wanted me to do a colonoscopy- so we started bowl prep. Basically, a ton of Miralax and Gatorade. Because of my severe stomach "stabbing pain" I was also on loads of pain medications, which took away a lot of my pain and feelings. Well, because I was so tired, I was able to fall asleep. But then everything changed two hours later. I woke up in a wet bed. I was completely traumatized because for one I made a mess and for two I had never done that, and I was completely embarrassed without calling a nurse I panicked and went to the bathroom in my room. I was already in tears, and it got worse. I realized I was leaking all the way to the bathroom and all over the bathroom. I panicked and tried to shower to hide the mess, but I was in too much pain. I called for help in tears, and I was having an anxiety attack. Cassie and her helpers quickly came to my rescue. Everyone was reassuring me the mess was fine, but I was in complete shock.

Cassie personally helped me shower change and relax after the whole ordeal. She talked me through calming me down and I don't think I would have been so relaxed without her help. I have never seen so much compassion from a nurse. She did everything in her power to make me feel relaxed. She even put my hair up since I couldn't with my IV. I was able to fall back asleep shortly after then I woke up again in a mess a second time and Cassie was right there to help me. She is always reassuring and compassionate. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
