May 2021 Honoree
cassidy dooley, RN
My husband and I met Cassidy Dooley when we were transferred to the CICU. I was as scared as I could be, but still trying to appear calm. I strongly believe Cassidy could sense my fears, and at that moment her voice became my calmness. Hearing all that the Doctors were saying, and explaining, she would come and repeat again in that calm voice at the right time when I could comprehend it all.
My husband was taken care of by some of the most amazing and caring staff ever. Cassidy stood out, and soon became my favorite, my voice of calmness. On days when she wasn't our Nurse, she would always make time to come and check on us, and tell us that she is praying for us.
After almost two weeks on CICU, we were transferred. One day I walked into my husband’s room, and who did I see standing there? Cassidy, even amid COVID, and we shared an automatic hug between friends.
We were later transferred to Easy Street, and the night before our release we were able to see Cassidy again. She came to see us after her shift, and it was a very tender reunion for her, my husband, and me. Thank you for everything, our voice of calmness.
