Cassidy Nash, RN

My father was a patient in the Cardiac ICU for over two weeks after suffering a heart attack. He was on life support with a heart pump, and we did not know if he would survive. Cassidy was the nurse who cared for my father on most of his days in the hospital, and I truly believe she was one of the reasons he pulled through.

Cassidy worked tirelessly and always made sure my dad was comfortable. Sitting at his bedside and watching him fight for his life was incredibly difficult, but whenever Cassidy walked into the room, I immediately felt calmer because I knew he was in good hands. She explained everything to me and to our entire family. I asked her a million questions, and she never once made me feel like I couldn't ask one more.

She maintained a positive demeanor throughout each day and always spoke to my father with kindness and respect. When he struggled to communicate, she was patient. When he was weak, she encouraged him to walk and regain his strength. I told her that he could not have received better care.

My dad may not remember the care he received during that time, but when he is back to his normal self, I will make sure he knows what an incredible nurse Cassidy was. Saying goodbye before her week off was difficult because, by then, she truly felt like part of our family.

I hope that if I am ever hospitalized, I am fortunate enough to have a nurse like Cassidy.
