Catherine "Cathy" Kim, RN

We had a patient who was receiving some heart breaking information about her son's prognosis and Ms. Kim was quick to comfort her in her time of distress. It was a scenario where no one would have blamed her if she stepped into the hall during the conversation as she was already aware of the content of it. Instead, she stayed and actually moved closer to the patient. She really impressed me with her compassion and demonstrated how, in medicine, even if you can't cure a patient, you can still be there and ameliorate suffering with your compassion.
