I had a subtotal colectomy and I am only 23 years old. I was absolutely terrified, and I had a very hard recovery. Every single morning, Nurse Cat was in my room, making me smile. She was always one step ahead in ensuring I was taken care of pain-wise and made sure the staff during the evenings were knowledgeable about my condition. I would have had a difficult experience if it weren't for Cat. She was also beyond welcoming to my husband, who was staying with me during my care, and even in my most painful and darkest times, she made me feel comfortable and even made me laugh a few times.

While a patient at Rapides, I had to have immediate surgery. My pain level was extreme, and I had to get some relief. Surgery was difficult. I woke up in a panic, and I couldn't eat or drink due to swelling in my neck. However, Nurse Cat Dauzat was there for me, calming my fear, helping me to cope, and providing compassionate care. Additionally, her smiling face and great attitude brightened my days and lifted my spirits. If there were ever an angel on this earth, it would be her. Her knowledge and professionalism are outstanding. She handled every one of my issues with care and concern. I attribute my rapid healing to the care I received from Nurse Dauzat, and I can not thank her or RRMC enough. She is truly a model nurse and a great asset to this hospital.

Thank you, Catherine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
