From the get-go, Cathy and our son had a bond; she would come in for her shift and greet him and you could see a calm come over his face, she always had a ready smile for him and in her voice, you could just hear her love. Cathy is one of those nurses that take their kids home with them and you could really tell that she loved our son, not just as a patient, but also as a person. In the end, she made our decision to let him go an easier one by letting us know what we were seeing as he was declining and explaining what options we had. She truly helped us begin to grieve.
