I had a rough night with constant hourly tests, vital signs, and blood draws. Cat knew this and put a handwritten note on my door saying "Let patient sleep". Then she ensured that the vital signs and blood draws were coordinated so I could get some sleep.
After getting in a room at 4:30, they hadn't gotten Dr's orders for meds. She made calls to doctor to find out why. In other words, she relieved my stress of not knowing why nothing was happening. I had 2 DVT's in both legs.
Cat always had a cheerful attitude despite being very busy. Always made sure the night nurse knew my status in great detail when pertinent. She always checked my demeanor and was concerned when I wasn't as perky during one visit. She was excellent at explaining things we didn't understand. Best discharge briefing we have ever had!
